Scott Westerfeld

Author

Scott Westerfeld is an author of adult and young adult novels who splits his time between New York City and Syndey, Australia. He is married to writer Justine Larbalestier; the couple does not have children and do not have any plans to have children.

Westerfeld was born May 5, 1963. His family—mother, father, and two older sisters—moved around while Westerfeld was growing up for his father’s job as a computer programmer; the states in which the family resided are Texas, California, and Connecticut.

Based on his website and self-written Biography and Fact Sheet, Westerfeld seems like an approachable guy who is flattered by the attention he receives from fans and students. Keith Thompson

Illustrator

 

Keith Thompson is the illustrator of the art in Leviathan. He is an international freelance artist for books, magazines, movies, T.V., and video games. He has been interviewed dozens of times for multiple art and design concept magazines, such as Imagine FX, and has also been nominated for Top Fantasy Artist of ImagineFX's Fantasy Artist's Favorites. Thompson was welcomed as a member of a panel during San Diego's 2010 Comic Con that discussed the strides made in genre crossovers in books and magazines. He has even dabbled in the film industry with his concept contributions to Guillermo del Toro's films Don't be Afraid of the Dark and Pacific Rim.
